Putting together a home theater system would be at a minimum A monitor, receiver, speakers, and a source. Then others would add more speakers and more sources, maybe even more monitors. Then others would look at equipment that would do a more deliberate job or product that just improves the look or sound but doesn't do anything by itself. The next level is the surroundings. Starting with the room itself and the dimensions and the layout of doors, windows, and stairs. Furniture, wall, and window decisions will not only make the room, but all effects how it sounds and how it views. So which parts do you have and which parts do you need? Which of those old products will still work and which can just not do it anymore?

The newest technologies like 1080p Full HD is something I am going into to help everyone understand how to look for the right TV for them and what to look for, even what these things are basically worth to you as a consumer. 1080p means we will have to delve in to Blu ray and the different ways to get into the best picture that is possible. Like many of you, I just got a message stating that the satellite receivers (that are upgradable) will be able to transmit the 1080p as opposed to the old max resolution of 720p or even 1080i. So the TV we all watch so much is going to start having limited content in full HD. Well I guess that money might be well spent after all.
